I noticed when I first got my S1 20W that the first time I cleaned the lens cover and lens, that a small piece of plastic or glue came loose near / around the lens. I didn't think too much about it at the time, but I did notice that when I cleaned the lens (not the cover but the lens) it felt loose. 

I watched a cleaning vide recently and I noticed that the lens in the vide was seated high, as in the attached picture of my lens. But in this picture, I had to manually “unscrew” the lens to get it to sit this high. 

When I go to clean the lens however, I always find it recessed, all the way down into the tube. 

I don't think this is right. I don't think the lens should freely move around like this, and I think something is broken. 

Is this broken? Will it affect my cuts? I feel like it definitely should as the focal length will vary. I suspect my S1 isn't cutting properly as i must set power to 84% / 8 mm/s to cut cleanly through 3mm basswood without and pieces getting “stuck” with uncut edges. Could this be the reason?
