My problem is the distance between the close view camera and the real laser engraving.
I put a object like a business card on the p2, use the close view camera to create a snapshot and then place my design on the snapshot in the Center of the card. Then I engrave and the engraving is not centred on the business card it is shifted by 2mm.
I saw people engraving a corn of rice. Impossible with my machine. It will not even hit the rice.
I also checked the screws of the close camera. They are tight. I also checked different material thicknesses and the error changes with the thickness. If the material gets thicker, the shift reduces and if it gets more thicker it starts in the other direction. Using it without sleds the error is huge like 5mm deviation of camera and actual engravement. I entered the thickness to the tests manually so the thickness measurement is out of the error chain. So there must be a problem with the camera or laser orientation. One of them is not perpendicular with the bed.
I ran the close calibration and hoped it will correct that but it does not. It changes nothing on the shift.
Xtool support is not helpful so far… I am getting nervous.
