Hello,

I am a new F1 Ultra user and just trying different things.  I has trying to cut 3mm basswood and keep getting flame detected and it would not cut all the way through.  I have adjusted power and speed, but was using a piece of wood larger than the plate. So the shield would not close all the way.  Then I tried with a small piece that let me close the shield completely, no flame detection and it cut all the way through. Any ideas why this is happening with the shield only up about an inch?
