The xTool M1 is a hybrid cutting and engraving machine that combines both laser and blade cutting capabilities within a single machine. However, if you are new to laser making field, you might be confused about the difference between them.

In most cases, it depends on what material you process and the effect you want. Using laser cut, you can cut and engrave thicker materials like basswood and acrylic via the laser beam, while the blade allows you to cut thinner, soft materials like vinyl and iron-on.
