Resolve Device Connection Failure After xTool Creative Space Plugin Update for F1

Overview

  • This guide is specifically tailored for xTool Creative Space (XCS) version 1.7.8 and addresses connection issues that arise after updating the plugin to version 1.2.2.

 

Issue description

  • After updating xTool Creative Space (XCS) plugin to version 1.2.2 while using your F1 laser device, you may encounter a connection failure. 
  • Specifically, the device connection section displays a message: "Connecting your device before starting the processing" (refer to Image 1), indicating the device is new and pending for new connection establishment. However, after your attempt at connection set-up, you may receive a "Connection failed" message (refer to Image 2).

Troubleshooting

#1 Update XCS

  1. Check Software Version: Verify your XCS software version is 1.7.8 before proceeding with the following.
  2. Upgrade to the Latest Version: Update to the latest version of XCS to resolve the issue.
    • Path: Software settings >> General >> Software update >> Check for updates
  1. Reboot: Restart XCS and F1 before attempting to connect the laser device again.

 

#2: Update the Plugin

  • For Users Wishing to Continue with XCS Version 1.7.8, replace the newly installed plugin with the new version to resolve the issue. Follow these steps:
    1. Download the new plugin: F1-V1.2.3.ext
    2. Launch XCS.
    3. Drag and drop the new plugin into the new project within XCS.
    4. Reboot: Restart XCS and F1 before attempting to connect the laser device again.

📌 NOTE This plugin is compatible with XCS version 1.7.8 ONLY.
