I don't know if this is even possible, but someone might know.

I have 2 leather bound journals and I would like to foil a design to give it a antique look.

There is no measuring when in emboss mode (I assume that's because I have only seen people emboss paper) so even at the lowest setting the tip won't move across the surface.

I have the riser base so I'm wondering if I open the book, secure with magnets and mark my work area would it work?

If you have tried something similar and have been successful I appreciate any guidance/advice.
