My distance measurement unit has stopped working.  When I click on the auto measure, I get this error.

Distance measurement exception.
Please check the distance sensor.
Error code M363 so

I have to tell you the whole story: I purchased the riser base for my S1.  I installed it.  The first time I used the auto measure, the auto measure pin did not align with the stopper on the very right side of the machine.  The pin was about a quarter inch in front of the stopper.  I shut everything down and booted it all back up.  Then I tried the auto-measure again.  The laser went down and touched the wood and moved to the stopper on the right side.  I then heard some grinding-type severe noise.  I shut the whole laser machine off.  After the grinding noise, it returned to the center of my wood and will not work.  Is there a plastic gear in the laser unit that could be stripped?   I have had my Xtools S1 40watt for about two months, and I have the distance sensor and pin-up in the right place.

I tried everything, including removing the 40-watt laser and cleaning it well.  I don't know what to do next.  

Please help!
