I've got a relatively simple geometric shape (ie square or circle) that i engrave for a template on a regular basis. 

This 9x9 pattern of circles roughly 1/8 thick rim on each circle takes 2.5 hours to complete. If the engraving would follow the circular path instead of cycling back and forth forever, i could save so much time. 

Is there a way to change the engraving path to follow the shape outline instead of going back and forth down the pattern?
