Is anyone else able to get XCS to generate tabs that cut at any power OTHER than 0%? I've tried everything I can think of and it seems to be all or nothing. When I set the “Tab Cut Power (%)” field to anything other than 0%, no tabs are processed or cut.
I have also tried different tab sizes to see if that affects the ability to change power, but it does not. I've altered all of the other variables I can think of but it still doesn't seem to work.
I'd love to have it cut at 50% or %75 power for tabs… What am I missing?
This is on a latest firmware and software PS2 with XCS on a Mac. Processing on a Honeycomb Panel with 3mm Basswood Ply, cutting at 80% Power, 36 mm/s Speed… if any of that matters.
I can demonstrate this simply with 2 circles, each on a different layer and with the only varied setting being "Tab Cut Power (%)". See the following screenshots. I've set the blue circle to 0% cut power and the red to 50% cut power. When processed, the tabs are generated for the blue circle but not for the red.
UPDATE: I realized that the preview would likely show a line since the laser is firing the whole time, but I didn't see any evidence of a lower power “tab” on the red circle no matter what percentage I put. Even 1% and it clearly cuts at full power all the way around with anything less than a .7mm tab. See my comment below for explanation.
