Snapshot preview not working on S1

I have read all the tutorials, watch several videos.

TLDR: Can't take snapshot with S1 light on, and even when I get a good snapshot, it's not aligned in the workspace.

I am on an S1 with the riser base and a honeycomb and I have downloaded the latest version of XES on my Mac and on my iPhone. The first problem I run into is during calibration. After I scan all of the stickers in the proper order, the app requests that I take a photo. It says that I must “Align the viewfinder frame with the base plate and include all the stickers inside.”

I attempt to take the picture with every possible rotation of my phone and I get this error message:

“Recognition failed. The picture does not meet the requirements. Align the bass played with a green viewfinder frame and take a picture again. Got it.”

I've turned my camera profile and landscape both ways. I've taken the photo from multiple heights, and I've tried it at different angles. I've use the level on my phone to make sure the phone is completely level. The only way I can get it to except my photo is in portrait mode, which means I must be very high above the XTool to have all the stickers in the picture. Even then I have to rotate the phone before it will except a photo. When it finally excepts the photo and I send it over to my Mac, it does loaded as the workspace photo, but the image is skewed. It is not square to the workspace. When I run some tests, I find that everything is misaligned, and it is not printing in the space where I've placed my objects.

I have literally taken hundreds of failed photos and I've only gotten three that were excepted. Each time all of the stickers are in the view frame. As I said, the only photos that I can get to work are in portrait mode held very high above the unit and add a slight angle so that I can see underneath the edge of the frame.

I am able to take a proper photo in landscape mode, perfectly squared and level when the S1's lights are off. In fact, when the lights are off on my unit, it excepts my photo every single time. However, this requires that I wait for the light to time out every time I want to take a photo.

However, even when I do get it to accept a photo it never lines up. I know this because when I enable “laser module position” and I placed the laser over a spot on my bed, it's never lined up with the photo. For example, the photo I attached shows an example where I placed the laser directly over the star next to the 10. If I were to engrave based on this photo it would be wrong.

Something is very wrong with this feature.
