I am using XCS Beta - I have an M1 Ultra.  I am at a complete loss at how to use XCS right now.  I have been able to draw using a pen, and cut vinyl (separate projects) - the easy stuff so far.

I am a newbie with it - but I am a seasoned Cricut user

All I want to try is to use a pen to draw and then cut it out - on vinyl.

I put a vector on the canvas - chose Pen to draw it.

I deselect my 1st vector and create a new one - but I want it to cut… as soon as I choose cut, it auto changes my 1st vector to cut as well.

I am guessing I am missing something with having to layer things - BUT, how the heck to I add a layer ????
