Tile engraving troubles

I am so frustrated. I'm trying to engrave tiles. Via all the ways you see on youtube etc.

Just plain 4x4 tiles.

I have used Tio2 with alcohol, tio2 with water and glue etc. I have tried all the different ways. I finally found a mixture I think that works well.

The Tio2 with alcohol (99% iso) 1:2 ratio. That covers nicely and my array on my m1 shows it engraves pretty well.

I have also tried the zinsser primer and that didn't work as well. Maybe it was too thick?

I have attached some pics so you can see what I'm talking about.

Now here lies my problem.

I can't get anything to engrave the way the array looks as you can tell by the picture with the unicorn I was trying as a test run.

I have tried all sorts of settings, all sorts of powers (high speeds + low power, low power + high speeds etc) and speeds. I've tried Jarvis, I've tried grayscale settings.
I've tried 100lpc, 200lpc, 300lpc, etc.

Nothing is engraving the way it does in the arrays.

What am I doing wrong?
