Baltic Birch and the Xtool M1

I've been told continuously that the M1 can cut through 10mm of wood in one pass! I've been struggling to cut through 3mm of Baltic birch in 2 passes.

So I'm trying to cut some wood earrings with small hole designs. my file is attached, although I've tried other files like the homestyle customs hockey ornaments (professional made svg files) and I still can't cut through this 3mm wood in one pass. I don't think it's the wood, because I've tried other woods like dark walnut, cherry and balsa and I don't have much difference in performance.

I've focused correctly, calibrated correctly, performed many cut tests and they all come out similarly. I do not have air assist at this time, however it is ordered and on its way, but I also do not think it will make a big difference.

I even approached xtool support and they determined my laser module may be faulty, and sent me a new one, however after changing the laser module to the new one and re focusing/calibrating and performing new tests, I still have trouble cutting through this 3mm wood. I understand the file isn't great, but I should be cutting through 3mm wood at 100% power with a cutting speed of 5 right!?

What could I possibly be doing wrong? I'm running out of options to try, and am wondering if the M1 just can't cut through quality hardwood ply.

Any help would be enormously appreciated.
