S1 40W stops in the middle of a job

Hello,

I received my new S1 40W a few days ago, and am having an issue: the S1 sometimes stops dead in the middle of a job.

The first time this happened was when I was etching logos into cutting boards. Each logo took about 6 minutes to etch and I was on my ~30th cutting board when it just stopped part way through the job. I thought it might have over-heated, so I let it sit for an hour and started again. It again stopped part way through a job, this time after engraving only about 10 cutting boards.

The second time this happened was the following day, about 5 minutes into my first job of the day. It just stopped.

The third time was just this evening. I used it successfully earlier today, but this evening it stopped about 20 minutes into a 45 minute job.

When this happens, Lightburn doesn't seem to know that there is a problem: there is no error message in the console that I can see, and the progress bar continues to count the seconds as though the machine is still working.

I have been and am still using a D1 Pro 10W & 40W with the same laptop and software combination and I have no issues with the D1.

  • Laptop: Windows 11
  • Sofware: Lightburn 1.4.03

Has anyone else had similar issues with the S1? Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this problem?

Thank you,
Brian
