The machine operates normally, yet the laser appears to be absent during the processing, or there is no visible reaction from the laser on the material's surface. If this is what you encounter, please refer to the following steps for troubleshooting and a solution.
Ensure that the parameters in the XCS are properly configured rather than being the default 1%, as illustrated below. If the power setting in XCS is too low, the machine will emit weak light that can be invisible to the eye.
xTool F1 has two laser sources: the blue laser is for non-metallic materials, while the infrared laser is for metal materials. Using the wrong type of laser may result in the laser not being visible on the material surface.
If you are using third-party consumables, the differences in the quality can also affect the reaction between the laser and the material. Try using xTool-certified materials and see if the problem goes away.
Before using the laser on any material, you want to make sure the focus is right. On how to confirm if the focus is right, please refer to the third part of the following first use guide video.
1) Connect the machine to the XCS and click on "Init" to reset the laser head (do not move the laser head after initialization).
2) Observe the positions of the red and blue dots on the baseplate. If the dots overlap, the focus is correct.
3) If the dots do not overlap, adjust the position of the infrared indicator light until they do. For details, please refer to this guide.
