How to Create a Texture Print on an Acrylic Board

Introduction

In UV flatbed mode, xTool O1 Omni Printer supports printing patterns on rigid, flat objects in three modes: Flat, Texture, and Relief. This document walks you through the texture printing process using an acrylic board as an example.

Steps

Step 1: Connect O1 to your computer

Follow the instructions in Connect O1 Omni Printer to connect O1 to your computer.

Step 2: Place the acrylic board

1. Install the standard baseplate with the standard adhesive mat attached.

2. Peel the protective film off the acrylic board. Apply primer to the board surface as described in Step-by-Step: Printing on a Substrate with Primer to reduce the impact of static electricity during printing.

3. Place the acrylic board onto the standard adhesive mat.

4. Press the device button to move the printing platform into the printer.

Step 3: Set processing parameters

1. Select mode: UV flatbed mode

2. Select the material: Acrylic

3. Click Scan to capture the workspace background.

4. Drag the pattern into the canvas, or import it.

5. Click Smart mask to identify the printable area and resize the pattern to fit the acrylic board.

6. In the lower-right corner, set parameters as follows:

  • Select Texture.
  • For Ink mode, select White+Color.
  • Set Thickness (mm) to 0.6 or another value as needed.
  • Set Smoothness to 1 or another value as needed.

Ink mode: White ink is used to cover the original color of the substrate and provide a proper base for color printing.
Thickness (mm): Specifies the maximum height for texture printing.
Smoothness: Controls the smoothness of the transition from grayscale to print height.

Step 4: Complete printing

1. Click Process in the lower-right corner.

2. A printing confirmation page appears, showing the estimated processing time and ink cost. After confirming the information, click Print in the lower-right corner.


Wait for the printing to finish.
