Overview

You can use xTool fire safety set on Laserbox Rotary to monitor the laser working space. If a flame is detected, the fire safety set will sound the alarm. If the flame is large, it can trigger the action of fire extinguishing. This chapter describes how to install xTool fire safety set on Laserbox Rotary.

Note: This chapter provides only one recommended installation method. You can adjust the installation way based on your situation.

Install the sensors

The sensors and Laserbox Rotary

xTool fire safety set includes two types of sensors: sensor 1 is designed for flame and temperature detection around the laser module; sensor 2 is designed for flame detection in other working space. You can determine the number of sensors to be used based on the structure and working space of your laser device.

The working space of Laserbox Rotary is about 0.04 cubic meters. Therefore, in addition to sensor 1 for detecting flames around the laser module, you can use four sensors 2 in other working spaces.

The structure of Laserbox Rotary is as follows:

1. Install sensor 1

(1) Open the lid of the Laserbox Rotary, and then move the laser module to the middle.

Note: Ensure that the power of the Laserbox Rotary is turned off.

(2) Use the 3M tape to paste sensor 1 to the left side of the laser module.

Note: Ensure that sensor 1 and its cable will not block the laser traveling path.

(3) Paste a cable clamp on the laser module, and then fix the sensor cable to the clamp.

(4) Use cable ties to fasten the sensor cable along the cable drag chain.

Note 1: Ensure that the sensor cable closely follows the path of the cable drag chain, so as to avoid interfering with the movement of the laser module.

Note 2: The illustration above provides a reference on how to fasten the sensor cable. You can adjust the number of cable ties and the positions where the cable is fixed based on the actual situation.

(5) Use cable clamps to fasten the sensor cable onto the inner wall of the Laserbox Rotary. Finally, pull out the end of the sensor cable from the lower right corner of the opening of the Laserbox Rotary.

Note: Ensure that the sensor cable is out of the laser processing area.

2. Install sensor 2

(1) Use the 3M tape to paste four sensors 2 to the inside of the lid.

Tips: The illustration below provides a reference on how to paste the four sensors on the lid. You can also adjust their positions based on the actual situation.

(The distance between the sensors on the second row and the bottom of the lid must be>13cm. )

(2) Paste cable clamps to the inside of the lid and below the lid, and then fix the sensor cables to the clamps.

Note: Ensure that the lid of the Laserbox Rotary can open and close as usual after pasting the cable clamps.

(3) Move the laser tube and its surrounding parts to the middle, and then thread out the four sensor cables from below the laser tube.

(4) Gather up the four sensor cables, and then use a cable tie to fasten them together below the bottom right corner of the lid.

(5) Route the cables along the right side of the laser working area. Then, use cable clamps to fasten the cables onto the inner wall of the Laserbox Rotary. Finally, pull out the ends of the cables from the lower right corner of the opening of the Laserbox Rotary.

Note: Each cable clamp can fasten two cables at maximum. Therefore, to fasten four cables, you need to use at least two cable clamps.

3. Connect to the sensor hub

(1) Use the 3M tape to paste the sensor hub to the right side of the Laserbox Rotary's front panel.

(2) Take the front part of the sensor hub down, wind all the sensor cables around it, insert the connectors into the ports on it, and install it back to the rear part of the sensor hub.

Note: The cable of sensor 1 must be plugged into the yellow port; the cables of sensors 2 can be plugged into the black ports in any order.

Install the tube

1. Use the 3M tape to paste the tube clamp to the inside of the Laserbox Rotary's front panel.

2. Insert one end of the tube into the tube clamp, and then pull the other end of the tube out from the lower right corner of the opening of the Laserbox Rotary.

Use the smart switch

The smart switch is used to control the power of the laser device (and its accessories). After paired with the control box, the smart switch will be under the system control. If a flame is detected, the smart switch will immediately cut off the power supply of the laser device (and its accessories).

Note: If you use a laser device with an air purifier, air assist set, or other accessories, please use an

extension socket to connect them all to the smart switch for power supply.

Connect to the control box

1. Connect the sensor hub to the control box.

2. Insert the other end of the tube into the tube fitting of the control box.

3. Connect the fire safety set to a power supply.

Note: DO NOT connect the power cable of the control box to the smart switch. The control box needs not only to control the smart switch to power off your machine when a flame is detected, but also to continue the alarm and even fire extinguishing after the smart switch is turned off.

You have finished the installation!

Use the fire safety set
