This article applies to calibrating the error between the value measured by the aimed-measure function and the actual distance.
Issue Description
If you encounter an error of distance larger than 1mm when using the aimed-measure function in the slates flat mode, you can follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
Check if the material and the blade are flattened. If not, please adjust it and try again.
If this doesn't solve the issue, please follow the next steps to calibrate the aimed measure.
Material Used
A Windows computer
A suit of infrared calibration tool for distance measurement (as shown below, can be acquired from the xTool support team).
If you can access a 3D print device, you can download the model of the calibration tool and print it on light-color materials. Please paint the sponge area black or apply black tape to it.
Put all the slats in position. Make sure they are seated properly, otherwise, the calibration may not be accurate. Remove the drawer and put it right underneath the machine.
Connect the machine to the computer with a USB cable.
Decompress the zip file and run the software. In the software screen, click on the 'Connect' and the 'Clear data' button.
Open the lid of the machine, then click on the 'Red spot on' button in the software.
Assemble the calibration tool. There are 5 horizontal surfaces on the tool each representing a level of height. Put the tool between two slats as shown in the photo below. Make sure the red dot falls on the center of the -21mm height.
Close the lid of the machine. Click on the 'Red spot on' button again, and then the 'Auto capture' button. The laser module will move to the other four surfaces for measurement.
After the laser module measures all the surfaces, click on 'Generate calibration file'. You should see a graph and a pop-up window that says 'Generating the calibration file succeeded!' If it failed, please check if the slats are completely seated in position, and if the drawer is placed underneath the machine.
Click on the 'Distance measure verification' button to see if it works. If not, please repeat the above steps. If yes, please move on to the next step.
Upload the calibration file. And the calibration process is all done.
