Updated Mar 4,2025
Updated Mar 4,2025

Issue description

You may experience uneven or inconsistent processing results when utilizing xTool Electrostatic Mat during operations with M1 Ultra.

  • Specifically, one side of the material may cut through properly while the other side does not, or uneven coloring or incomplete filling may occur when using xTool Hot Foil Pen or Fine-point Pens.

This guide provides troubleshooting steps to resolve these issues.

Possible causes

  • Uneven Installation: Improper installation of xTool Electrostatic Mat may lead to uneven material placement.
  • Assembly Tolerance Issues: xTool Electrostatic Mat and M1 Ultra's baseplate may have slight manufacturing tolerances that prevent perfect flatness, leading to inconsistent processing.

Troubleshooting flowchart

This flowchart offers a quick overview of the troubleshooting process for resolving uneven cutting or inconsistent outputs.

Inconsistent Results (Uneven Cutting/Coloring)?

→ Check Installation for Unevenness → Calibrate with XCS Software

→ Still Inconsistent? → Adjust Cutting Pressure

→ Still Inconsistent? → Contact Customer Support

Troubleshooting

STEP1: Check for uneven installation

  1. Refer to the installation troubleshooting guide: Troubleshoot Uneven Installation of xTool Electrostatic Mat on M1 Ultra to verify that the mat is correctly installed and placed evenly.
  2. Check for any areas where the mat may not be flush with the baseplate of M1 Ultra, which could affect the processing results.
    • If resolved: Proceed with your work. Troubleshooting is complete.
    • If unresolved: Proceed to STEP2.

STEP2: Calibrate with XCS Software

  1. If you are using the Electrostatic Mat for the first time or are experiencing flatness issues, perform calibration in XCS to adjust for any inconsistencies in flatness.
  2. Refer to the calibration tutorial: How to Calibrate xTool Electrostatic Mat for detailed steps on how to calibrate your Electrostatic Mat in XCS.
    • If resolved: Proceed with your work. Troubleshooting is complete.
    • If unresolved: Proceed to STEP3.

STEP3: Adjust Cutting Pressure

  1. For undercutting (fails to cut through):
    • Increase cutting pressure if necessary in XCS.
  2. For overcutting (excessive depth):
    • Decrease cutting pressure if necessary in XCS.
  3. Perform a test cut to check for consistency.
    • If resolved: Proceed with your work. Troubleshooting is complete.
    • If unresolved: Contact xTool support at support@xtool.com for further assistance. Provide a detailed description of the issue and the troubleshooting steps you've completed so far.
