Troubleshoot Uneven Installation of xTool Electrostatic Mat on M1 Ultra

Issue description
When installing your xTool Electrostatic Mat on xTool M1 Ultra, you may notice that the mat is not sitting level on the baseplate of your laser device. Please consult this section for advice on addressing this installation issue.
Possible causes
Debris on your M1 Ultra’s baseplate.
The connection cable of xTool Electrostatic Mat protrudes from its cable slot.
Minor height variance due to assembly tolerances.

Troubleshooting
⚠️Safety First: Always power off M1 Ultra and disconnect Electrostatic Mat before performing any maintenance.
STEP1: Clean the baseplate
Power off your M1 Ultra and disconnect Electrostatic Mat.
Remove the mat:
Disconnect the mat’s cable connecting to your laser device.
Unscrew the thumb screws securing the mat onto your laser device.
Inspect and Clean: Wipe your M1 Ultra’s baseplate with an alcohol-dampened cloth to remove any possible debris.
Reinstall the Baseplate (Preliminary): Reinstall the baseplate without tightening the thumb screws.
Check for Unevenness: Observe if the baseplate sits level on M1 Ultra without the thumb screws tightened.
If flat: Tighten the thumb screws to secure the baseplate. Troubleshooting is complete.
Still uneven: Proceed to STEP2.
STEP2: Check the connection cable
Remove the Mat: If you tightened the baseplate screws in the last step, remove the Electrostatic Mat again.
Inspect Cable Connection: Examine the cable on the underside of the Electrostatic Mat. Ensure it is fully and properly seated within its designated slot. The cable must not be protruding from the slot.
Reinstall & and Check: Reinstall the mat onto the baseplate to check:
If level: Tighten the thumb screws to secure the baseplate. Troubleshooting is complete.
Still uneven: Proceed to STEP3.

STEP3: Perform software flatness calibration
Perform this step only if cleaning and the cable check do not resolve the issue.
Understanding Assembly Tolerances: Minor height differences due to manufacturing can sometimes cause slight unevenness.
Navigate to Device settings > Calibration > Electrostatic Mat Calibration.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete calibration.
