xTool S1's Pin-point™️ Positioning feature negates the need for camera-assisted alignment, offering a more straightforward, accurate approach to defining your work area. However, certain shapes and scenarios require a bit of skill. That's where this guide steps in - unravel the tricks to leverage this feature to its fullest, especially in more complex tasks.
S1 utilizes the Pin-point™️t Positioning function along with absolute coordinates. This system allows the laser head's exact position to be mirrored on the XCS canvas, displaying a red cross when the "laser module position" is switched on.
Please note that with the absolute coordinate system, the zero coordinates on XCS indicate the zero coordinates on the whole engraving area of xTool S1.
S1 can only frame in a rectangular way, and can not do the outline framing, but you can measure the center of material to figure out the placement.
Measuring becomes an easy task with the "twin-point measuring function." It’s as simple as it sounds yet as accurate as you need.
1. Start by hitting the Aim icon to measure distance, and marking the processing area.
2. Glide the laser head to the material's left-top corner, and tap the start button on the machine, capturing the first coordinate.
3. Repeat for the right-bottom corner. The XCS displays your defined area, setting the stage for your working area.
If you have updated to XCS V1.7, you can use the Pin-Point Pointing Function to mark more shapes. Learn more.
