xTool S1 Fails to Recognize the Laser Module
This article applies to:
xTool S1 with all laser modules.
Issue description
You should see the following when the issue happens: A toast message appear on the top of the screen that says: "No laser module recognized. Please check your device and connect it again." And the name of the laser module won't show in the Basic info of the Device settings.

Troubleshooting
#1 Upgrade the Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause issues sometimes.
Please ensure your firmware is up-to-date. For details, please see this guide.
#2 Upgrade the plug-in
It's possible that a firmware that's not meant for S1 is installed. One example is the 40.206 firmware (see the picture below).

This will prevent XCS from recognizing the laser module. To solve this, please upgrade the plug-in for your S1:
- Click on the xTool icon at the top left corner and select Settings in the drop-down menu.

- Go to "About XCS" and enable the Auto-update device plug-in.

- Restart XCS and the plug-in will be installed automatically.

#3 Check the connection cable
When processing, the cable connecting to the laser module may become loose.
Power off the machine. Unplug and replug the cable to make sure of a secured connection.

#4 Check the port of the laser module
Check if the pins of the port on the laser module are deformed or damaged.
Check if there is any sign of breakage on the connection cable of the laser module.
