I have been attempting to figure out how to properly use the chuck moving away from the rollers. To stop from switching between to the two I was hoping to use the chuck for most cup/glass/tumbler engraving. I have a skinny 20oz tumbler. Measured the perimeter to be 23.5cm using the included ruler. The diameter calculated perfeclty after measuring that too just to check. I have the honey comb tray on the “y” slot in the machine. The first job started out engraving fine but finished too light (didn't take off all of the coating on the tumbler). I tried again thinking maybe it had slid out of the holders (though it didn't). The second time it was too light at the beginning and the end but good in the middle.
It is not being very consistent so I am assuming I am doing something wrong. Missing a step maybe? I've done a tone of these on the rollers and have had no issues. I think I'll go back to the rollers but would kind of like to get this to work with the chuck now since I have to scrap this tumbler (I've got more spots to test on).
Any assistance related to using the chuck with straight glasses/cups/tumblers would be greatly appreciated! I attached two photos of the tumbler. I'm pretty sure my settings are good. No reason for it to engrave part of it good and the rest not good. I placed the second test underneath the first job to make sure the coating wasn't uneven or something like that. I don't believe the coating is uneven on the tumbler.
