I have a picture below of an identical file engraving on acrylic. 

I used to be able to get the result on the left (detailed and white engraved), now I get far less detail and almost melted.

I have used Xtool's recommended  settings and have tried my own including altering lines per cm.

I cannot reproduce the results I got only a few weeks ago.

I can't think what else to try.

PS I have cleaned and re-aligned the mirrors too.
