Issue description

The laser-engraved patterns are shallow, blurry, or carbonized.

Why it happens

1. The resolution of the image is low.
2. The processing power or speed is set too high or too low.
3. Imperfect engraving outcomes may be attributed to inherent material characteristics.
4. Material is placed beyond the focus range for the laser module.

How to fix it

#1 Improve image resolution

1. Enhance image resolution by adjusting image "Sharpness".
2. Use a higher-resolution image, if possible.
3. If this is not the case, proceed to the next step.
    

#2 Adjust processing power and speed

1. For XCS built-in materials, use the recommended parameters.
2. For other materials, utilize the material test array (see the picture below) in XCS to find optimal engraving parameters. For more details on the material test array, refer to this article: Material Test Array | Get Your Best Parameters at Once.
3. If this is not the case, proceed to the next step.
   

#3 Increase power or reduce speed

1. Imperfect engraving results may be ascribed to the material itself. Notably, they may be swayed by factors, including uneven colors and the density of the material's texture.
2. To improve engraving outcomes, adjust processing power or reduce processing speed.
3. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

#4 Adjust material position

Adjust the material to be processed to a position within the focus range for the laser module. For more about the focus range, refer to this article: The Processing Modes of M1 and the Relevant Specifications.
