Updated Nov 16,2024
Issue Description:
There are three water-cooled fans at the bottom of P2. If one or more of these fans stopped working, the machine would be still operatable. However, this will reduce its heat dissipation capacity. In these circumstances, please avoid using P2 in a high-temperature environment.
If you have P2 connected to XCS when the malfunction happens, you may see a pop-up error message: 'Water-cooled fan exception'.
Note: To troubleshoot, please first identify which fan is faulty according to the steps below.
Connect P2 using a USB connection cable.
Open your browser and select the link that corresponds to your operating system.
Input the link into your browser and press "Enter" to control the machine's water-cooled fan directly:
Now you will be able to know which fan is faulty. Please export the Work log for customer support to analyze.
#1 Reboot the Machine and Try Again
If the error persists after rebooting P2, please try another troubleshooting.
#2 Replace the Board or the Fan
Please remove the left plate of P2 according to the video tutorial below.
Exchange the connection cable of the cooling fan that stopped working with that of a functioning fan.
Following the method mentioned in the 'note,' check if the previously non-working fan now functions properly.
If the previously non-functional fan starts working after exchanging the cables, then its port is likely faulty, indicating a need to replace the water-cooling control board.
However, if the fan still fails to work even after the cable exchange, it is likely that the fan itself is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If you have followed the instructions above and the issue is still not resolved, please read the article in the link below, collect the troubleshooting steps you have taken, and contact xTool tech support for further advice.
