Engraving tiny objects can be challenging, especially when you are dealing with a cylindrical object. Last time, we talked about how to center on tiny items in Laser Plane mode, and today we will guide you through the process of centering on cylindrical items using the xTool M1 Laser Cylindrical Mode.
Key Steps:
- Mark the center of the logo on the tumbler as a reference point, and use a dot as an auto-measure to align the logo with the middle.
- Adjust the engraving spot to avoid hitting high spots when engraving on a curved surface with a low spot. Set the software to Laser Cylindrical Mode and enter the diameter of the tumbler.
- Use the Chuck and auto-measure for accurate engraving.
- Align the laser with the center shaft of the cut using the laser alignment tool. Line up the dot on the logo with the laser for marking the center.
- Create a laser line to represent the starting point using masking tape to mark the top of the rim. Adjust the image height to 3.75 inches and visually line it up with the laser line.
- Measure the width in millimeters (approximately 67.1) using a metal tape measure for accuracy.
- Use the laser alignment tool and measuring tape to ensure the 33 cm alignment with the logo on the cup. Make a second mark and align the logo accordingly.
- Ensure proper alignment for accurate printing by using laser lines, marks, and making sure the part is square to the base. Use a riser incliner to aid in alignment.
