Are you experiencing reduced laser power output or over-exposed images? It might be time to clean your lens! 💡

During laser processing, smoke and dust can generate and stick to the surface of the lens, which reduces light transmittance and causes the attenuation of laser power. But don't worry, routine maintenance can prevent this from happening.

Here are 2 methods for checking and cleaning your xTool M1 lens:

Method 1: Smartphone Camera Check

  • Use the front camera of your smartphone to check whether the lens is dirty.

  • Then, moisten a cotton swab with alcohol and gently wipe the lens.

Method 2: Disconnect and Inspect Laser Module

  • Disconnect the device from the power supply and remove the baseplate.

  • Gently place xTool M1 upside down and move the laser module to the center to check the lens. If the lens is dirty, wipe it with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol, and then clean it with a dry cotton swab.

Note: Remember to be gentle when cleaning the lens, and avoid using rough or abrasive materials that may scratch the surface. Regular lens cleaning will help maintain the performance of your xTool M1.

Possible Signs that Your Lens May Need Cleaning

  1. The pictures captured by your camera are over-exposed, or the Smart Fill and Extract functions are not working properly. It is likely that the smog or dirt is sticking to the lens, causing those hazy shots.
  2. If your laser-cutting is not going as planned, it might be because of a contaminated lens that produces low laser power output.
