Introducing the "process what you draw" feature that allows you to draw directly on the material or drawing board. With this, the machine will recognize your drawing and automatically start processing it, saving you time and hassle.

Precondition

Before using the "Process What You Draw" function, ensure you have the correct circular code for enabling this feature.

How to use

To properly use this function, follow these steps:

STEP1: Draw Your Design

Grab your black and red pens and get ready to draw! Use black for laser cutting and red for laser engraving.

Draw on an A4 size (297mm * 210mm) drawing board, making sure to follow the positioning diagram provided. Please avoid drawing in the upper left corner, as it may be in the shadow area of the laser head where hard to be recognized.

STEP2: Start Processing

Once you've finished your design, it's time to start processing! The "process what you draw" function operates offline, eliminating the need for XCS. Make sure your drawing board is properly positioned, and then press the button.

Important Notes

  • It is recommended to use the official marker for drawing instead of printed drawings from ordinary printers, in order to avoid the color reflection that may affect the recognition of red and black colors.
  • Ensure the canvas doesn't have sudden changes in brightness (i.e., shadows, creases, or impurities) which could interfere with the recognition of the canvas, red pen, black pen, and automatic location selection function.

  • Avoid processing objects that are too small or delicate as they may be detected as noise and removed during processing, resulting in the loss of fine structural details. The minimum valid size should not be less than 4mm * 4mm.

  • Use a pen that is wider than 2mm to avoid breaking it. When drawing, be sure to fill in (or replace) broken or uneven pens.

Do not draw near the ring code as it may also be considered noise and removed during processing.

FAQ

  • Why can't the machine start offline processing?

If your machine is having trouble starting offline processing, make sure you have followed all of the precautions mentioned above. Additionally, double-check that the corresponding processing mode is checked in the XCS equipment settings, and that there is a ring code on the canvas.

  • What if the processing position of "process what you draw" is offset from the actual drawing position?

Place the drawing area as close to the camera as possible. We are continuously working on improving accuracy to reduce the offset. If the offset is less than 2mm, it is within the normal range. If the offset is greater than 2mm, try performing primary or secondary calibration.

  • Can I use other colors besides blue for drawing?

Avoid using colors other than blue, black, or red to draw as the possible outcomes are unknown.
