In this article, two frequently asked questions about D1 maintenance are answered. Take a look at it now:

  • How to maintain the machine and how often do I maintain it?
  • Do I need to clean the laser? If yes, how often?

1. How to maintain the machine and how often ?

The sliding rod is a chrome-plated optical shaft. You need to apply lubricant to the optical shaft regularly to prevent rust. The following describes the details:

Periods:

Generally, apply grease after you use the machine for 15 days to 2 months:

  • When the machine is frequently used, and runs for more than 8 hours per day, you need to lube them once in every 15 days at least.
  • When the machine is less frequently used, and runs less than 2 hours per day, lube them once in every 2 months at least.
  • If the sliding rod is dirty. Clean the surface of the optical shaft and then lube it.

Precautions:

  • Before maintenance, clean away the dirt from the surface of the optical shaft.
  • During maintenance, make sure that the lubricant is evenly applied, wipe off the excessive part, and ensure that the optical shaft is clean.
  • After maintenance, manually push and pull the X-axis and Y-axis to check if the shaft moves smoothly.

The maintenance involves the optical shafts on x-axis and y-axis, four in total.

2. Do I need to clean the laser? If yes, how often?

The laser protective lens needs cleaning regularly, especially when the protective shield is contaminated or the laser can’t cut through the materials like it could before.

It is recommended to check every time before processing to see if it’s necessary to clean it.

Here are the instructions:

  1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply and remove the laser from the machine.
  2. Clean the inner and outer frames of the shield with tissues or dust-free cloth moistened with alcohol.
  3. Clean the laser prism and infrared laser-emitting point with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol.
