This article applies to:

D1 Pro with all laser modules.

Issue description

D1 Pro is equipped with limit switches, and when the alarm is triggered, you may meet either of the following two conditions:

Case 1: Standard alarm

When the laser module attempts to process exceeding the upper left corner limit of the processing area, the position limit function is activated, triggering the buzzer alarm.

You may also see the error message "Laser module moving over the position limit" pop up on XCS. This serves as the standard alarm for the position limit function.

Case 2: False alarm

If the alarm is triggered without any apparent reason, regardless of the laser module's position, even before it hits the machine's frame, it could be a false alarm for the position limit.

How to fix it

For case 1: Standard alarm

  • Click the icon in the upper right corner, and go to "Working parameters" to change the "Position type" to "Laser spot".
  • Ensure the laser module has some space from the left plate.

For case 2: False alarm

#1 Check the limit switch cables

  • The position limit function operates by connecting the three cables, which link to the three limit switches and the main control board.
  • To identify these components, power off the machine, flip it upside down, and refer to Pic 1 & 2, where the three limit switches and connecting cables are highlighted.
    • Red 1: Right X-axis limit switch
    • Red 2: Left X-axis limit switch
    • Red 3: Y-axis limit switch
  •   The cables establish connections as follows:
    • Green 1: the main control board and the right X-axis limit switch
    • Green 2: the left and right X-axis limit switches
    • Green 3: the left X-axis limit switch and the Y-axis limit switch
  • When any of the three is loose, the alarm will be triggered during the framing or processing. In this case, check the cables for any damage signs and ensure they are firmly inserted into the connectors.

#2 Check the limit switch

  • If the limit switch malfunctions, the alarm may still be triggered even when all three cables are properly connected.Right
  • If you are uncertain about the switches' condition, refer to Pic 3 to check for any discrepancies compared to yours.
  • In such instances, kindly reach out to us and provide videos or photos for additional verification. We will assess whether a replacement is necessary.

Tips: Disabling the alarm in XCS software may help you use the machine before the replacement parts arrive.
