💡 With this xTool D1 Pro 40W laser module kit, you can modify your xTool D1 Pro into a 40 W one.
1. Remove the laser module from the middle plate.
2. Unplug the cable of the laser module from the connector.
3. Cut the black cable ties that tie the cable of the laser module.
4. Unplug the connector of the laser module, motor and limit switch cables from the main board.
5. Unplug the limit switch cable from the limiter of the left plate and the middle plate.
6. Loosen five screws that fix on the middle plate.
Remove the original middle plate.
7. Removing the original middle plate is completed!
1. Remove the screws on the position limite control board.
⚠️ If the position limit control board cannot be removed due to the screw slipping, use sharp-nosed pliers to remove it. Exercise caution when doing this, protecting yourself from hurt.
2. Install the new position limit control board.
1. Remove two original position limit pieces from the right plate.
2. Install two new position limit pieces on the right plate. Tighten the screws.
💡 Note: The largest processing area varies according to the laser module. You need to set the position of position limit piece A, accordingly.
1. Remove the original main control board
(1) Loosen the screws on the coupling anticlockwise.
(2) Remove the shaft from the coupling. Then unplug the motor cable from the main board.
(3) Loosen four screws on the main board. Remove the main board. Unplug the Wi-Fi antenna from the main board.
2. Install the new main control board
(1) Install the Wi-Fi antenna on the new main board. Then install the main board on the front plate.
💡 Align the hole position of the right plate when installing the main board, and check whether the switch can be worked properly or not. Then tighten the screws.
(2) Tighten the screws.
Connect the motor cable to the main board.
(3) Replacing the main board is completed!
1. Put the shaft through the coupling, and then put it through the timing belt and insert it into the idler pulley.
💡 If you can't put the shaft through the timing belt, the possible cause is that the timing belt is set too tight. You can adjust its tension by turning the screw.
2. Slide the coupling to the joint of the shaft and the motor shaft.
⚠️ Attention: Keep a small distance between the coupling and motor, or the coupling can't rotate properly. Do not tighten the screws here.
3. Slide the two sliders down against the front plate.
4. Tighten two screws of the coupling.
1. Cut off the white cable ties on the new middle plate and keep the black ones.
2. Connect the connector of the motor cable to the port.
3. Align the middle plate to the sliders of the left and right plates. Tighten with the screws (M4*16) to fix the middle plate.
4. Fix the timing belt pulley with the screws (M4*25).
⚠️ Attention: The screw is used to set the tension of the timing belt. Do not tighten it fully. Otherwise, the timing belt may be damaged.
5. Connect one end of the limit switch cable to the port of the limit module on the left plate, and the other end of the cable to the port of the limit module on the middle plate.
7. Use the cable ties to attach the connection cable.
⚠️ Attention: There are four holes designed for cable ties on the right plate. Do not attach cable ties in the specified two holes. They may interfere with the moving of the laser module.
1. Remove the fixer on the laser module. Connect the laser module connection cable to the port, and put back the fixer.
2. Install the laser module on the middle plate.
3. Use the thumb screw to fit the laser module.
💡 You may need to repeat this process multiple times to tighten the thumb screw.
a. Turn the handle clockwise
b. Hold the handle to draw it away from the thread away
c. Rotate the handle to stop it from being blocked
d. Release the handle
e. Turn the handle clockwise again
Modification completed!
1. Adjust the tension of the timing belt on the right plate.
💡 Attention: Try to set the tension of the timing belt on the right plate to be the same as that of the timing belt on the left plate to ensure better engraving and cutting results.
2. Set the position of the laser module. You can follow the steps:
3. Set the position of the rear plate on the laser module.
💡 To cut thicker materials, you can adjust the position of the rear plate of the laser module to ensure better cutting results.
After adjusting the position of the rear plate, you can still use the focal setting bar to set the position of the laser module.
⚠️ If you use the infrared laser module on the machine, use the focal length setting piece delivered with the machine to set the position of the infrared laser module.
💡 For the 40 W laser module, you are advised to clean it, including the inner and outer frames of the light shield, lens, and red light outlet, every time after it has been used for one consecutive hour.
When the light shield is dirty or laser beams can't cut a material, you need to clean the laser module.
1. Turn off the device and remove the laser module from it.
2. Remove the light shield.
3. Loosen the screw on the lens and take the lens out of the laser module.
4. Twist the nozzle clockwise.
5. Clean the inner and outer frames of the light shield with tissues or dust-free cloth moistened with alcohol. And clean the lens, nozzle, and red light outlet with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol.
6. Put the lens and the light shield back to the laser module.
7. If you find the lens difficult to clean, you can replace it with a new one.
When I set the bitmap processing speed to a large value, the laser module jitters when it is working, causing poor engraving results. Why and what can I do?
