1. What can xTool C1 Color Cutter be used for? What tools are required?
xTool C1 Color Cutter (hereinafter referred to as the xTool C1) is a device equipped with a built-in CIS scanning module that enables consumable recognition, material positioning, and automatic edge tracking. It can be used for printing, cutting, hot stamping, scoring, and drawing by working with different tools.
Processing method | Required tools | Description |
|---|---|---|
DURA ink cartridges | Prints designs on paper, self-adhesive materials, fabric, wood boards, and more | |
Cut | Fine-point blade, deep-point blade, cutting blade, or rotary blade | Select the appropriate blade for the material |
Hot foiling / Embossing | Hot foil pen | Powered by the device; supports hot foiling, line embossing, and filled embossing |
Cold embossing | Foil transfer & scoring tip | Supports cold foiling and score lines |
Drawing | Fine-point pen | Used for drawing |
2. What kind of materials can each blade cut?
Blade | Materials |
|---|---|
Fine-point blade | Thin materials less than 1 mm thick, such as vinyl, heat transfer vinyl (HTV), paper, and sticker paper |
Deep-point blade | Materials less than 1.6 mm thick, such as flexible magnetic sheets and thin cardboard |
Cutting blade | Thick materials, such as balsa wood and thick leather |
Rotary blade | Fabrics, such as denim, canvas, and felt |
3. How do cutting mat, electrostatic mat, and mat-free processing differ?
- With a cutting mat: Supports scanning, printing, cutting with all blades, drawing, scoring, and hot foiling.
- With xTool C1 electrostatic mat: Supports scanning, printing, cutting with all blades except the cutting blade, drawing, scoring, cold foiling, and hot foiling.
- Without a mat (directly processing roll materials): Supports only printing and cutting with the fine-point blade.
4. What types of cutting mats are available, and how do I choose one?
There are three kinds of cutting mats: LightGrip cutting mat, FabricGrip cutting mat, and StrongGrip cutting mat. Each type is available in two sizes: 12x12 inches and 12x24 inches. The adhesive strength varies by mat type, and they are designed to hold different materials; please select the appropriate mat based on the material to be processed.
- LightGrip cutting mat: Used to secure paper, vinyl, and self-adhesive materials
- FabricGrip cutting mat: Use to secure fabrics.
- StrongGrip cutting mat: Used to secure wooden boards and other rigid sheet materials.
5. How does the electrostatic mat differ from a cutting mat?
The electrostatic mat is powered by xTool C1. When powered on, it uses electrostatic attraction to hold thin, lightweight materials like paper, and moves them along the Y-axis. When powered off, the holding force disappears immediately, allowing materials to be removed easily without residue. Unlike an adhesive cutting mat, its holding force does not noticeably decrease with use.
6. What are the processing speeds of xTool C1 Color Cutter?
- Maximum cutting speed: 509 mm/s
- Inkjet printing speed per pass: 352 mm/s
🔔 Note: 509 mm/s is the maximum instantaneous linear speed. The blade can reach this speed only when cutting a sufficiently long straight line at a 45° angle. This speed cannot be reached when cutting curves.
7. What are the printing specifications of xTool C1?
- Printing technology: Thermal inkjet
- Ink cartridge colors: Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black
- Ink type: Water-based pigment ink (DURA series) / water-based dye ink (BASIC series)
- Ink cartridge capacity: 40 mL total (10 mL per color)
- Print resolution: 720 × 1200 dpi / 720 × 600 dpi; maximum: 720 × 1200 dpi
- Ink droplet volume: 6 pL (CMY) / 9 pL (K)
- Maximum print area: 304.8 mm (12 inches) wide; length depends on the cutting mat or roll material, up to 3657.6 mm (12 inches)
- Maximum printable material thickness: 3 mm
