Precautions
- Before cleaning or replacing any optical component, disconnect the device from power and wait until it cools down to room temperature.
- Clean or replace optical components in a dust-free or relatively clean environment.
- Before operation, wash your hands thoroughly or wear dust-free gloves.
- During operation, avoid touching the surface of any optical component with your fingers or hard tools.
Cleaning tools and methods
Choose one of the following methods.
Method 1: xTool cleaning kit (recommended, sold separately)
- Clean the area around the optical component to ensure the operating environment is relatively clean.
- Take out a lens wipe. Do not unfold it yet. Use the edge of the wipe to gently remove large dust particles and dirt from the surface.
- Unfold the wipe and gently wipe the glass surface in one direction until it is clean.
Note: The lens wipe is for single use only; do not continue to use it if it has dried out. For heavy dirt, it is recommended to use multiple wipes and clean the surface in separate passes.
- If there is still liquid residue on the surface:
- Small optical components: Use a cotton swab to wipe in one direction until no water marks remain.
- Large optical components: Use a cleaning cloth to wipe in one direction until no water marks remain.
Method 2: cotton swab / lint-free cloth + alcohol (not provided)
- Clean the area around the optical component to ensure the operating environment is relatively clean.
- Dip a cotton swab or dust-free cloth in alcohol, then gently wipe the glass surface in one direction until it is clean.
Tip: It is recommended to use cotton swabs for small optical components and lint-free cloths for large optical components.
- If liquid residue remains on the surface, use a dry cotton swab or dust-free cloth to wipe in one direction until no water marks remain.
Clear and clean the baseplate
- Remove the slats or the honeycomb panel on the baseplate.
- Clear all the debris on the baseplate.
- Use a damp cloth to clean the baseplate until no visible stains remain.
- Dry the baseplate with a dry cloth.
Clean or Replace the optical component set
Optical Window 2 (Galvo Source)
(1) Inspect the optical window.
- If the optical window is only slightly dirty, clean it with the cleaning tools. (For cleaning methods, see "Cleaning tools and methods")

- If the optical window has burn marks, or if it is heavily soiled and cannot be wiped clean, continue with the following steps to replace it.

(2) Use the installation tool to loosen and remove the old optical window. Then screw in the new optical window by hand and tighten it with the installation tool.

Steering Mirror (Galvo Source)
(1) Take out the steering mirror.

(2) Inspect the steering mirror.
- If the steering mirror is only slightly dirty, clean it with the cleaning tools. (For cleaning methods, see "Cleaning Tools and Methods")

Note: Please clean the reflective side of the steering mirror.
- If the steering mirror has burn marks, or if it is heavily soiled and cannot be wiped clean, replace it.

(3) Install the cleaned or new steering mirror back into the device.

Note: Ensure that the steering mirror is installed in the correct direction as shown in the image.
Optical window (20W)
(1) Inspect the optical window on the left side of the 20W diode galvo module.

Clean or Replace the Lens Protector
Tip:
To replace the lens protector, purchase the xTool X1 Lens Protector separately.

(1) Remove the lens guard, then clean the lens protector with the cleaning tools. (For cleaning methods, see "Cleaning tools and methods")

If the laser power remains weak after cleaning the lens protector, continue with the following steps to check and replace the lens protector.
(2) Unscrew the cover in the direction indicated by the arrow, then remove the cover with the lens protector.

(3) Check the lens protector. If the glass is burned or heavily dirty and cannot be cleaned, replace the lens protector according to step (4).

(4) Replace the lens protector, then install the cover and lens protector back to the device.
Note: Do not touch the glass with your fingers or other tools during replacement as the glass may get dirty. If the glass gets dirty or dusty, use a cotton swab to clean it.

Clean the nozzle
Gently wipe the nozzle with a dry cloth to remove any dust that could contaminate the material being processed.
