Flexible materials compress significantly under pressure, changing the relationship between motor rotation and the distance the material moves. Therefore, settings suitable for rigid materials are not suitable for flexible materials. The degree of compression also varies among flexible materials. To improve processing accuracy, refer to the steps below to adjust the feed lead value for each type of soft material.
🔔
- Before processing flexible materials, use adhesive backing or spray adhesive to secure them to a basswood board at least 6 mm thick.
- The default value for Feed Lead is 28.304547. When processing EVA foam, adjust the feed lead value. For other flexible materials, the default value can be used.
- The feed lead value only takes effect when processing flexible materials; it has no effect when processing rigid materials.
Material | Feed Lead Value |
|---|---|
Synthetic PU leather | 28.304547 |
Nappa leather | 28.304547 |
EVA foam | 28.247824 |
Felt board | 28.304547 |
If your material is not covered in this article, adjust the feed lead value from the default based on the actual processing results. The more flexible the material is, the lower the feed lead value should be. Adjust the value in increments of 0.01, and do not exceed the default value.
Change the feed lead value
(1) In xTool software, select processing mode as Use conveyor feeder, then select Flexible material.

(2) Click Device settings > Accessory Information, and change the feed lead vale based on the material type.
