Updated Mar 16,2026

Dear xTool Creators,

To provide more robust system-level protection and align with the global trend of optimizing industrial equipment technologies, xTool will gradually roll out firmware updates. Given that many users own multiple xTool devices of different generations, the firmware update may impact the software connection methods for some users. To ensure that your production workflow remains stable and controlled in a multi-device environment, please follow the guidelines below:

1. Users with Multiple xTool Machines (New and Older Models Mixed)

  • Product Impact: Devices with the new protocol firmware (including newly purchased machines) will need to be used with xTool Studio 1.4 or later.
  • Recommendation: We recommend upgrading to the latest firmware and updating your software to xTool Studio 1.4 or above. This version has excellent backward compatibility, allowing it to recognize and manage both new and old devices simultaneously. Upgrading to a unified software version is the most efficient solution, eliminating connection issues when switching between new and old machines and providing older devices with more professional editing features.

2. Users who Rely on Third-Party Software (e.g., LightBurn)

  • Product Impact: Due to the security protocol restructuring, certain models, such as P2S, F1, F1 Lite, and F1 Ultra, will experience restrictions with LightBurn connections after the firmware upgrade.
  • Recommendation: If your workflow highly depends on LightBurn, you may choose to delay this firmware upgrade. We’re in active discussions with the LightBurn team to coordinate a technical solution and improve compatibility.

3. Users who Rely on Mobile (App) Integration

  • Product Impact: After the firmware upgrade, certain models, including F1, F1 Lite, F1 Ultra, M1 Ultra, and P2S, may experience issues with mobile device connectivity.
  • Recommendation: If your primary method of operation is through the mobile app, you may choose to delay the firmware upgrade.

We understand the complexity of device management, and the xTool Support Team is here to provide the following assurances:

  • Upgrade Flexibility: The decision to upgrade is entirely up to your operational needs. If after upgrading, you find that the new version doesn't fit your existing multi-device workflow, please contact xTool Support. We will assist you in finding an appropriate solution.
  • One-on-One Technical Guidance: If you experience connection issues between new and old devices, our technical experts will provide remote troubleshooting to ensure that every device can operate smoothly.

xTool is always user-centered, listening to feedback and continuously optimizing and updating to enhance the system and user experience. Thank you for your understanding and support.
