Issue description

When using your xTool Apparel Printer with xTool Creative Space or via the control panel, you receive one of the following error messages:

  • "High/Low ambient temperature" (Error Code: X)
  • "High/Low ambient humidity" (Error Code: X)

This guide provides step-by-step troubleshooting to resolve these environmental condition errors.

Potential causes

  • Unsuitable Environment: The current ambient temperature or humidity in the workspace exceeds the recommended operating range for the printer.
  • Sensor Malfunction: The internal temperature/humidity sensor inside the printer is glitching (less common).

Troubleshooting steps

Step 1: Adjust the workspace environment

The printer monitors its internal temperature and humidity, which can differ slightly from the room conditions but are heavily influenced by them. The recommended operating range is:

  • Temperature: 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F)
  • Relative Humidity: 50% to 80% RH

Actions:

  1. Check Room Conditions: Use a separate thermometer and hygrometer to measure the actual temperature and humidity in the room where the printer is located.
  2. Adjust as Needed:
    • If the Humidity is Too Low: Use a humidifier to increase the ambient humidity in the room.
    • If the Temperature is Too Low/High: Use air conditioning, heating, or other temperature control methods to adjsut the room temperature to the recommended range.
    • Ventilation: Ensure adequate air circulation around the printer, but avoid placing it directly in the path of strong drafts from fans or AC units, which can cause localized temperature fluctuations.
  3. Allow the printer's internal environment to stabilize for some time after making adjustments. Try operating the printer again.
  4. If the error persists despite the room conditions being within the recommended range: Proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Replace the temperature/humidity sensor (Advanced)

If the temperature or humidity displayed by the printer (on the LCD or in XCS) seems significantly different from the actual room conditions (measured in Step 1), the internal sensor might be malfunctioning.

Advanced Intervention Required:

  1. Replacing the internal temperature/humidity sensor requires advanced technical intervention. Please proceed to the "Still experiencing issues?" section below to contact xTool Customer Service for further diagnosis.
  2. If it is deemed necessary by xTool technical experts, certain component(s) may need to be replaced.
