Issue description
While operating your xTool OS1 Automatic Shaker Oven Machine, you receive a "Shaker oven heating exceptions (Error Code: NTC/Abnormal heating)" error message displayed on either xTool Creative Space (XCS) software or the oven's touchscreen control panel.
- Consult this content for troubleshooting advice.

Error Code: NTC

Error Code: Abnormal heating
Potential causes
The specific cause often relates to the error code:
- Error Code "NTC": Indicates a potential issue with the temperature sensor.
- Error Code "Abnormal heating": Indicates a potential issue with one or more heating tubes or their connection to the main control board.
- General: Main control board hardware failure (less common).
Troubleshooting steps
Identify the specific error code you received ("NTC" or "Abnormal heating") and follow the corresponding steps below.
Troubleshoot error code: "NTC"
This code points to a problem with the temperature sensor.
Step 1: Check the temperature sensor connection
Tools Required:- M2.5mm Hex screwdriver (included with your xTool package)
Important Safety & Preparation Notes:
- Remove Printer: Before starting, remove the xTool Apparel Printer from the top of the OS1 oven by unscrewing the two installation screws.
- Cool Down: Wait for the oven to cool down completely to room temperature before disassembly.
- Power Off: Turn OFF the oven's main power switch and UNPLUG the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Maintain Printer Power: After removing the printer, reconnect its power supply. This allows it to perform its automatic maintenance routines while the oven is being inspected.
Procedure:
- Remove Left Panel: Use the M2.5mm Hex screwdriver to remove the screws securing the left-side panel of the oven. Carefully set the panel aside.

- Reseat Connector: Locate the temperature sensor connector on the oven's main control board (refer to the image below for the specific port). Carefully disconnect and firmly reconnect the cable.

- Reassemble and Test: Carefully reinstall the left-side panel. Reconnect the oven's power cord, turn it on, and check if the "NTC" error message persists.
- If the error is still present, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Replace temperature sensor (Advanced)
If reseating the connection did not resolve the "NTC" error, the temperature sensor itself may have failed.
Advanced Intervention:
- Replacing the temperature sensor requires advanced technical intervention. Please proceed to the "Still experiencing issues?" section to contact xTool Customer Service for further diagnosis.
- If it is deemed necessary by xTool technical experts, the temperature sensor may need to be replaced.
Troubleshoot error code: "Abnormal heating"
This code points to a problem with one or more heating tubes.
Step: Check heating tube status
Tools Required:- M2.5mm Hex screwdriver (included with your xTool package)
Important Safety & Preparation Notes:
- Cool Down First: Wait for the oven to cool down completely to room temperature before removing the panel.
- Keep Printer Installed: For this test, keep the printer installed on top of the oven.
- Power On Required (Use Caution): You will need to power on the oven after removing the panel for observation.
⚠️ DANGER: DO NOT touch the heating tubes or internal components while the oven is powered on, as they become extremely hot and can cause severe burns.
Procedure:
- Remove Left Panel: Once the oven is cool, use the M2.5mm Hex screwdriver to remove the screws securing the left-side panel. Carefully set the panel aside.

- Initiate Preheat: Reconnect the oven's power cord and turn it on. On the printer's LCD control panel, initiate the Preheat function for the oven.
- Tap the temperature icon on the main screen, then Preheat > Start up.
- Observe Heating Tubes: Carefully observe the three heating tubes connected to the left side of the main control board (highlighted green in the diagram below). When heating correctly, the tubes will typically glow slightly or change color (appear yellowish). DO NOT TOUCH THEM.

- Identify Glitching Tube: Note if any of the three heating tubes does not appear to heat up (doesn't glow or change color) while the others do. This indicates the potentially malfunctioning tube.
- Power Off: Turn OFF the oven's main power switch and UNPLUG the power cord. Wait for the tubes to cool down completely.
- Reseat Connector: Once cool, locate the connector on the main control board corresponding to the heating tube that did not heat up. Carefully disconnect and firmly reconnect its cable.

- Swap Test (Optional but helpful): If reseating the connector doesn't help, you can try swapping the connectors between the non-heating tube and a known working tube on the main control board.
⚠️ Ensure power is OFF and oven is cool before swapping connectors. - Reconnect power, initiate Preheat again, and observe.
- If the same physical tube still doesn't heat up (even when connected to a different port): The heating tube itself is likely faulty and needs replacement.
- If the tube that was previously working now fails to heat up (when connected to the suspect port): The main control board likely has a faulty port.
- Power Off and Proceed: Turn OFF and unplug the oven. Based on your findings, proceed to the "Still experiencing issues?" section.
