Updated Dec 31,2025

Issue description

After powering on, the lifting platform malfunctions. Upon connecting to the software, an error code indicates "Gantry homing exception——GO_HOME.FAILED.V_AXIS". The V-axis refers to the axis of the lifting platform.

There are primarily two types of abnormal conditions for the lifting platform. You may perform the corresponding troubleshooting steps based on the actual condition.

Issue 1 in the device

Issue 1 is the most likely to occur in the V-axis homing failure exception.

Whenever the device is powered on, the lifting platform rises slowly for a short distance until it reaches the very top and then emits an impact noise.

Issue 2 in the device

The lifting platform is stuck by the foreign objects and cannot descend to the bottom normally to complete the reset, resulting in continuous descent and shaking of the lifting platform.

Possible causes

  1. The firmware is not the latest version.
  2. The connection cable of the V-axis limit switch is loose.
  3. The lifting platform is stuck by some foreign objects.
  4. The motor is faulty.

Troubleshooting procedures

For issue 1

1. Check the firmware and software

Update the firmware and software to the latest version.

2. Check the connection cable of the main control board's limit switch

(1) Follow the steps below, power off the device, and remove the left plate by removing the screws.

(2) Cut the cable ties that are close to the connector (if there are any), plug and replug the connector of the connection cable, and power on the device.

    • If the V-axis leveling resumes normal, power off the device and assemble the left plate.
    • If not, go to the next step.

3. Check the connection cable of the limit switch

If it is damaged, replace the 4-in-1 connection cable.

For issue 2

Check the lifting platform

(1) Power off xTool P3.

(2) Follow the tutorial to lift the lifting platform manually.

(3) Check whether there are any foreign objects under the lifting platform, causing it to get stuck.

If yes, remove the foreign objects.
