Common Issues of Plywood Warping

1. Common Issues

1.1 Plywood is already warped before laser processing.

1.2 Plywood warps due to heat during laser processing.

1.3 Plywood deforms after laser processing.

2. Solutions

2.1 Spray a light mist of water to correct warped plywood

Environmental humidity can affect plywood’s flatness. If the plywood is deformed before processing, lightly spray water mist on the concave side of the plywood. After absorbing moisture, secure it with clamps. This helps the plywood gradually return to a flat state before laser processing.

2.2 Use clips and masking tape to secure plywood

During processing, plywood may warp due to heat. Magnetic clips can hold the four corners of the plywood firmly on the honeycomb panel. Masking tape can also be applied along the edges of the plywood to secure it to the machine’s metal base.

2.3 Apply varnish to prevent deformation after processing

After processing, plywood should be stored in an environment with balanced temperature and humidity. Applying a thin layer of varnish on the surface can effectively reduce the impact of humidity on the material and help maintain its flatness.
