2. Pre-processing Preparation

2.1 Air pump assistance required

Turning on the air pump assist can blow away smoke and dust generated during the engraving process, keeping the cutting path clear.

Activating the air pump assist can blow away dust and reduce the likelihood of false flame alarms.

Activating the air pump assist can reduce contamination of the laser lens and ensure the accuracy of processing data.

2.2 Required Protective Equipment

Laser Protective Glasses:

Please use laser protective glasses corresponding to the wavelength of the laser in use, and take care to prevent the glasses from being damaged by laser reflection or scattering.

Dust mask:

A dust mask must be worn during processing to prevent inhalation of dust.

Protection Zone:

When processing with non-enclosed equipment, the processing area must be shielded to prevent laser leakage. Do not remove the protective cover of the equipment while the laser is operating.

3. Common Issues and Solutions

3.1 Cleaning After Silicone Engraving

After engraving silicone, a layer of white dust will cover the engraved area of the material. It needs to be cleaned using a brush and water. If the dust is not thoroughly removed, it will affect the visual effect of the engraved pattern.

3.2 Colored Base Map Silicone Carving Effect

When carving with solid-colored silicone, you can only carve depth into the silicone material and cannot carve out other colors.

After engraving on the colored silicone, if no colored effect appears, you can increase the power to carve through the surface coating to reveal the colored effect underneath.
