Tab Generation is a function in xTool Studio that generates small connection points (called "tabs") during the cutting process to prevent cut parts from falling or moving.
The Tab Generation function was developed for the processing mode of using the conveyor feeder. When cutting long objects, you can turn on this function to prevent falling parts from disrupting the transfer process and causing machine anomalies.
The Tab Generation function applies to vector cutting for all models.
(1) Click on the object, turn on Tab Generation, and adjust the parameters.
(2) Choose Generate by number or by spacing
Adjust the Number of tabs based on the size of the selected object.
Set the Tab spacing based on the size of the selected object. Tab spacing refers to the distance between the centers of two tabs.
(3) Adjust tab size based on the material's thickness and weight. For thick, heavy materials, consider increasing the tab size to 1mm.
(4) Usually, you don't need to set the Tab cut power, but when you are processing a very thick object, you can set the power to make it easier for the cut element to snap off the finished product.
(5) View tab locations and results on the preview page.
The preview is only available when the tab cut power is 0. Once the tab cut power is adjusted, the preview will be disabled. So we recommend you confirm the number and size of tabs before adjusting the power setting.
