The focus-lowering function is developed for laser cutting. By moving the laser module down to lower the focus, the cutting ability of the laser machine can be improved.
The Lower the focus function applies to vector cutting of all models except xTool D Series, F1, and F1 Ultra.
You can enable this function to cut thick material to ensure better cutting performance. After enabling Lower the focus, you can set By, the distance the focus, is to be lowered by.
Currently, this function is provided only for some xTool machines, and the setting range of the lowering distance varies according to machine, as described in the following table.
Machine | Default value | Setting range |
xTool S1 | 3 | [1,6], integer |
xTool P2 | 1 | [1,2], integer |
Laserbox Rotary | 1 | [1,2], integer |
xTool M1 5W | 1 | [1,2], integer |
xTool M1 10W | 1 | [1,2], integer |
When using xTool P2 to cut a basswood plywood 12 mm, you can lower the focus by 2 mm.
