The Pass parameter in xTool Studio refers to the number of times the same area is processed repeatedly when the laser engraves or cuts into the material. Increasing the number of Pass allows for deeper engraving or more thorough cuts for scenarios that require finer or deeper processing.
The default Pass is 1 and supports up to 10 direct reprocessing times, a parameter you should set for process.
When engraving deeper patterns, such as on wood or metal, increasing the number of Pass ensures the depth and clarity of the pattern.
When cutting thicker or harder materials, increasing the number of Pass ensures that the material is completely cut.
When engraving fine details, increasing the number of Pass can improve the accuracy and quality of the engraving.
You can select Pass values by clicking on the Pass value and change it directly to your desired data.
The more passes, the deeper the engraving marks. Usually, after setting the parameters, you can get a better engraving effect at one time.
Different materials have different processing characteristics and the number of passes must be adjusted according to the thickness and hardness of the material.
The Pass parameter usually needs to be used in conjunction with other parameters (e.g. power and speed) to achieve optimal machining results.
Tests can be performed on scrap to determine the optimum number of passes and other parameter settings prior to formal machining. And you could use the Material Test Array function in xTool Studio generates automatic test arrays (available for both bitmap and vector files) for your design patterns. In this way, you can visualize the effect of different parameters on the final product.
