In xTool Studio, the Speed function refers to the moving speed of the laser beam. If the laser beam moves slower, the processing time will be longer and the material will absorb more energy. Therefore, the smaller the speed, the deeper the laser carves into the material surface.
In xTool Studio, users can set the Speed of the laser for different materials and processing modes, such as engraving or cutting. The choice of speed value depends on the material and processing requirements.
You can select speed values in two ways:
(1) Move the progress bar.
Tips & Tricks
Different materials have different absorption and reflection properties of laser light, so the speed needs to be adjusted according to the material properties. If the speed is set too low, it may not be possible to preview the processed area clearly.
While setting Speed, the Power of laser processing needs to be considered. If the speed is too fast or the power is too low, it may also not be possible to preview the processed area clearly, so these two parameters need to be adjusted appropriately.
The xTool Material EasySet Library contains the suitable parameters for xTool materials, with speed data to help the user quickly find the right speed value for a specific material on a specific model.
You can also set the speed based on your own test results. The Material Test Array function in xTool Creative Space generates automatic test arrays for your design patterns. In this way, you can visualize the effect of different speed settings on the final product.
Note: If you would like a detailed tutorial on using the Material Test Array, see the Material Test Array | Get Your Best Parameters at Once.
