Troubleshoot Missing Strip Lines / Failed Printing Sample Test for xTool Apparel Printer

Issue description

This tutorial addresses two common issues observed during the printing process on your xTool Apparel Printer:

  • Printed output exhibits horizontal strip lines; or
  • Test sample prints have missing stripe lines, a clear indicator of the ink nozzle clogging issue.

 

⚠️ Important notes

When troubleshooting, please ensure the following:

  • Sequential Process: Follow the following 3 troubleshooting procedures step by step. Proceed to the next operation ONLY when the current step fails to resolve the issue.
  • Cleaning Solution Handling: When soaking parts in the cleaning solution, ensure the power supply is disconnected. The soaking time must not exceed one hour.
  • Deep Cleaning of the Print Head:
    • Ink Damper Removal:
      • Before removing the ink damplers, close the ink clips to prevent ink leakage.
      • When removing or reinstalling the ink dampers, avoid pinching the middle sides. Instead, pinch the left and right edges to pull it out.
      • Temporarily store removed ink dampers in a sealed bag to prevent ink spillage.

  • Print Head Removal and Cleaning:
    • Remove the print head while keeping it parallel to prevent ink from tilting and flowing into the print head.
    • When using a syringe to clear blockages, always maintain a parallel orientation of the print head.
    • For injecting moisturizing solution or purified water, apply pressure gradually until the flower is free of clogs and clear. Maintain this pressure without forcing the liquid to avoid abrupt detch of the connection tube, causing splashes.
    • After syringe cleaning, remove any residual liquid at the 4 top inlet ports between the print head and the ink dampers using a lint-free cloth or a cleaning cotton swab.
    • After reinstalling all ink dampers, remember to release the ink clip.

To ensure a smooth troubleshooting process, please prepare the following tools:

  • M2.5mm hex screwdriver (included in your package)
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Lint-free cloth
  • Cleaning cotton swabs
  • Syringe
  • Tubes (included in your package)
  • Moisturizing liquid (included in your package)
  • Container for waste ink
  • Plastic bags (included in your package)

 

Troubleshooting

STEP3: Manually deep clean the print head

‼️ Warning:
- Verification by Print Test Sample: Use the print test sample results to accurately identify whether the blockage is occurring in the white or CMYK print head.
- Selective Print Head Cleaning: If only the white print head is clogged, remove and clean only the white print head; similarly, if only the CMYK print head is blocked, clean only that unit. This video demonstration simulates a scenario where both the white and CMYK print heads are blocked.
- Risk of Damage During Manual Cleaning: Manual cleaning of print heads carries a risk of damage. Please proceed with caution and follow the recommended procedures.
