Troubleshoot D Series Red Crosshair Issues

Issue description

This troubleshooting guide aims to help users diagnose and resolve issues related to the red crosshair of D Series' laser module. Under normal conditions, the red crosshair positioning cursor illuminates immediately upon startup, displaying a clear and properly aligned cross. However, the following issues may occur:
  • No illumination: The red crosshair does not turn on after startup.
  • Dim brightness: The crosshair appears fainter than expected, reducing visibility.
  • Misalignment: The crosshair lines are skewed or not perfectly perpendicular, affecting accuracy.
The red crosshair is clear, and properly aligned.

Possible causes

  1. The Positioning mode is set to Laser spot in xTool Creative Space (XCS). This mode may cause the aforementioned issues.
  2. The light emission diode in the laser module is malfunctioning.

 

Troubleshooting procedure

#1 Check whether the red cross mode is enabled

If the positioning red crosshair is not illuminated, verify whether the red cross mode is enabled:
  1. Open XCS and connect the machine.
  2. Click the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Select Working parameters.
  4. Locate Positioning mode:
    • If Laser spot is selected, please switch it to Red cross.

#2 Replace the laser module

If the red crosshair still does not appear after switching the positioning mode, the issue may be with the emission diode, which cannot be replaced separately. Please contact xTool Customer Service support@xtool.com for a laser module replacement.
