Clearing the cache of xTool Creative Space (XCS) involves deleting temporary files that may cause software instability.
This common troubleshooting procedure can resolve issues such as:
XCS failing to connect to the machine;
XCS not launching or crashing; and
XCS displaying unexpected errors.
This document outlines the steps to delete the XCS cache on both Windows and Mac systems.
Clearance procedure
For Windows
Open File Explorer: At the bottom "Taskbar", click on "File Explorer".
Navigate to Cache Directory:
In the File Explorer's address bar, copy-paste the following path and replace "XX" with your Windows User ID before hitting the "Enter" key on the keyboard.
C:\Users\XX\AppData\Roaming\xTool Creative Space
📌 To find your username:
"XX" refers to your PC's user account name, e.g., Win User ID: mk12823.
If you forget your User ID, check under "Settings" => "Accounts".
Delete “Local Storage” Files:
Right-click on the "Local Storage" folder and delete the entire "Local Storage" folder.
For macOS
Navigate to Cache Directory:
Click on the top-right search icon. Copy-paste the following path and replace "XX" with your macOS User ID before hitting the "Enter" key on the keyboard.
/Users/XX/Library/Application Support/xTool Creative Space
📌 To find your username:
"XX" refers to your macOS's user name, e.g., macOS user name: makeblock
If you forget your User Name, check under "System Settings" => "Users & Groups".
Delete “Local Storage” Files:
Right-click on the "Local Storage" folder and delete the entire "Local Storage" folder.
Post-clearance steps
Restart XCS: After clearing the cache, restart the XCS software to ensure that all changes take effect.
Deleting the cache will not affect any saved designs or machine settings, but it may resolve issues caused by corrupted or outdated cached data.
