About this video tutorial

This video tutorial provides step-by-step instructions for replacing the print head for the xTool Apparel Printer. This procedure should be performed ONLY when:

  • A technical diagnosis confirms a print head malfunction, and it is recommended to replace the print head;
  • Ink nozzle clogging persists despite deep cleaning procedure; or
  • The software or LED panel displays an error message (e.g., “Print Carriage Board Power Exception”) that, upon analysis, is determined to be caused by a print head malfunction.


⚠️ Important notes

When performing the replacement, please:

  • Personal Protection: Always wear nitrile rubber gloves during the replacement process.
  • Handling Ink Cassettes: When removing the ink cassette, avoid pressing on its middle to prevent ink spillage.
  • Power Safety: Ensure the power cord is disconnected before replacing the print head.
  • Return Procedures for the Failed Print Head: If the failed print head needs to be returned, clean any residual ink and fluids. This process involves injecting moisturizing liquid or purified water (and air, as appropriate) and then sealing the ink inlet on both ends with a tube. DO NOT use liquids that may contain impurities, such as mineral water.
  • Replacement Timing: It is recommended to wait until you have received the new print head before initiating the replacement process to maintain normal printer functionality.
  • Post-Replacement Procedures: After replacing the print head, perform a standard auto-cleaning and calibration to ensure proper ink discharge and correct alignment.
  • Order of Replacement: If both print heads require replacement, it is advisable to replace the white print head first.
