When attempting to frame an object with F1/F1 Lite, if you notice no blue frame or moving blue dot appears after clicking the "Framing" button in xTool Creative Space (XCS), please consult this guide for advice on troubleshooting.
Possible causes
Device Connection Issues: The laser device has not been connected to your computer properly. Specifically, the device appears to be connected to the software but the communication between the device and the software is not functioning correctly. This can result in the device failing to respond to commands, such as framing or processing tasks, even though the interface shows the device as "connected."
Protective Enclosure: Some users may initiate the framing function but forget to lift the protective enclosure. With the enclosure in place, the laser light and movement are blocked from view, leading to the mistaken assumption that the framing feature is not working.
Outdated Firmware: An outdated firmware version may cause the device to malfunction or fail to execute commands properly.
Low Power: Insufficient laser power is set for the framing operation.
Complex Image: The file being processed may be overly complex, which can hinder the framing functionality.
Field Lens Issue: The field lens fails to emit lasers properly.
Troubleshooting
Step 1: Inspect the protective enclosure
After clicking the "Framing" button in XCS, lift the protective enclosure to check if the blue frame or dot appears.
If no frame or dot is visible, leave the enclosure open and proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify device connection
In XCS, navigate to the device connection page.
Click the "Switch device/Connect device" button to manage your device connection.
In the "Manage devices" window, click "Connect" to ensure proper connection.
If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Update Firmware
Access the "Device settings" in XCS.
In the "Basic info" tab, click "Check for updates" to ensure the firmware is up-to-date.
If your firmware is already updated, continue to the next troubleshooting step.
Step 4: Adjust Framing Power
Access the "Framing settings" located next to the "Framing" button.
Increase the "Light power" level for framing.

Additional steps
If the above troubleshooting procedures do not resolve the issue, please attempt:
Inspect file type
Determine if the framing issue occurs with rectangular frames or custom (irregular) shapes.
Rectangular Frame:
Power on your F1/F1 Lite and check if the blue dot for focusing emits properly.
If no blue dot emits during startup, the field lens may be malfunctioning and require replacement.
Please contact xTool Customer Service for further assistance along with the relevant troubleshooting findings.

Custom Shapes:
Place a simple shape (e.g., a rectangle) in the canvas and attempt framing again.
If framing still fails, export your log file and forward it to xTool Customer Service for further analysis.
To export the log file, follow these steps:
Click the gear icon in the top right corner.
Navigate to the “Working info” tab, where you will find the “Export” button next to “Work Log”.
In the directory where the log file is saved, locate the “xcs_f1_log”/“xcs_f1 lite_log” file folder (depending on your specific device model) and compress it before forwarding it to xTool Customer Service.
